Interview with chu`, from WHP
By KGB_killer

Our senior strategy specialist, KGB_Killer, recently sat down with chu`, captain of the number one seed for our upcoming Championship Invitational Tournament - We Heart Pigs. He asked him about the methods their team employs and also a few questions about the upcoming Invitational. We Heart Pigs has been one of the top teams in Heroes of Newerth for some time now and have been instrumental in encouraging other top players to make the switch from DotA to HoN.

GR: First off congrats on your most recent tournament victory. You played against FnR in the finals who ran that crazy blacksmith/devourer, puppet line-up which worked so well on everyone else. What enabled your team to get past that?

chu: Basically, they exposed their strategy by abusing it against other teams, and thanks to foooz, we had a good idea what to expect from them. But in the end, it was I who came up with the amazing bait, followed by an ultimate counter line-up.

GR: It seems as if your team is the one to beat going into next week's invitational, having the number 1 seed after this recent victory. Who do you see as your top competition?

chu: I would have to say it is team fiVe, but it is hard to say after having couple of close games against other teams. It will depend on whether Curtis (fpigs) plays one of the only two heroes that he plays not bad.

GR: Do you have any special strategies that you can share going into next week's event, or do you plan to just react to the other teams picks which has given you so much success in the past?

chu: Nice try trying to get our strategies out to the public, but I am not going to fall for it. On a serious note, I can confidently say we have couple of unorthodox line-ups hidden under our sleeves.

GR: Do you ever watch replays of your top competition to get an idea of their strategy coming in, or do you just focus on your own game and react in the moment?

chu: Studying our strongest opponents' line-ups and strategies is mostly done by our cheerleader slash bench warmer foooz, who has been doing a slightly better than decent job at it.

GR: In the other three matchups next week: (fiVe vs. GG7, FnR vs. POL, shh vs. 4DR) what match do you see being the closest and who do you like to advance out of the three matchups?

chu: I think shh vs 4DR will be the closest, mostly because five vs gg7 seem easily predictable and [the] result of FnR vs POL will probably depend on which server they play on. I have no personal preference as to which teams should advance, but it will feel most satisfying beating team fiVe [out of the] other clans listed.

GR: As an individual player you are regarded in many circles as one of, if not the best all-around player in HoN currently. What allows you to be so good at all the different roles whereas most competitive players usually lean towards one role?

chu: I excel at my role which is semi-carry. I personally believe that to be really good at semi-carry heroes, you have to have all the skills necessary to play carry heroes AND have a wide knowledge of the game. After years of experience in competitive DotA I have accumulated certain level of skill with certain heroes that I can play them to fullest potential.

GR: Lastly, if you were stranded on a desert island and had access to just one website for the rest of your life (other than GameReplays.org) what would it be and why?

chu: www.youtube.com, no competition.

GR: Well on behalf of GameReplays.org I would like to thank you for your time and encourage you to continue to participate in our weekly tournaments.
